Brianne moved to Washington, D.C. in 2009 by way of Kentucky and about 12 other places along the way. She moved to DC with a passion for collaboration and a dream to start a nonprofit that would “save the world”.
In 2011, she took the plunge and founded Collaborate to Impact (CTI) a nonprofit organization focused on collective action. With Collaborate to Impact, Brianne worked with over 40 nonprofit organizations on development and fundraising. As well as establishing several annual community events in Columbia Heights.
After four years of CTI Brianne took a brief interlude into the private sector doing private consulting where she worked with nonprofits, foundations, government agencies and corporations to create strategic plans, development plans, and social media strategies. She has planned and hosted many collaborative events bringing together partners and reaching out to the community in creative ways.
Now at the Columbia Heights Initiative, Brianne is bringing together her passion for collaboration and community development together. The Columbia Heights Initiative has a ten year legacy of bringing the neighborhood together through Columbia Heights Day. Under Brianne’s leadership, the organization is now expanding to bring more programming and resources to the community to help the neighborhood and all its residents thrive.
