YaVonne Boyd is a native Washingtonian and resident of Columbia Heights. She has been involved in community service for the last 25 years. She joined the board of the Columbia Heights Initiative because of their commitment to community development and improvement of lives of DC residents and visitors.
Ms. Boyd is the founding CEO of the Community Wellness Alliance and co-owner of MAD (Mother And Daughter) Style Boutique an online company started with her daughter Avniel in 2014.
Ms. Boyd serves as the President of the North Columbia Heights Civic Association, Fundraising Chair, Order of the Eastern Stars, Redemption Chapter 14, Member, Public Safety Committee for Columbia Heights and Park View, Member, Georgia Avenue Thrive, Board Member, Thelma D Jones Breast Cancer Fund.
Ms. Boyd holds a BA in sociology, a master’s degree in organizational leadership and is pursuing a doctoral degree in leadership management.
